With projects now active in northern Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Trust Fund for Victims is making concrete differences in the lives of an estimated 70,000 victim survivors.

Amaza Justine is a guardian to four children orphaned by war in Adjumani district, Uganda. With TFV partner ADPI, he is now breeding goats and actively participating in a Village Savings and Loan Association to support these children. Says Justine, “I realised that that there are several other people like me with the same problems and if they can continue living, then why can’t I?” |
A trainer at the Dorcas transitional home in South Kivu province, DRC. The centre is managed by TFV partner Action for Living Together for survivors of sexual and/or gender-based violence, providing safe shelter, medical care, small loans and more. The TFV has also provided 600 education grants to the children of these survivors (2 per household) so that they can return to school while their mothers focus on rehabilitation. |

A group at the Grow Centre in Gulu, Uganda, which is managed by TFV partner AVSI. AVSI produces prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices and provides physical rehabilitation and support for income generating activities. With support from the TFV, AVSI has supported 395 victims of war throughout the north since late 2008. |
A farmers cooperative heads out to their fields in Lira district, Uganda. TFV partner NECPA has formed over 100 such cooperatives in two districts in the north. In addition to growing high-value crops, these group actively advocate on behalf of victims' rights by lobbying local leadership to be more inclusive and responsive to victims' special needs. |
