The Board of Directors of the Trust Fund for Victims (TFV Board) at the International Criminal Court (ICC) is deeply concerned about the harm being suffered by the population of Ukraine as a consequence of the on-going conflict in that country.
 

The TFV Board notes with strong appreciation the decision of the ICC Prosecutor to initiate an investigation in relation to possible war crimes and crimes against humanity in the situation in Ukraine. The TFV Board also welcomes the referral of the situation in Ukraine to the ICC Prosecutor by a significant number of States Parties to the Rome Statute, many of whom are partners and supporters of the Trust Fund.
 

The TFV Board calls upon the international community, and in particular States Parties to the Rome Statute, to be mindful of the plight of victims in the situation in Ukraine and to recognise their inalienable rights to justice, redress and reparations.
 

The mission of the Trust Fund for Victims is to respond to the harm resulting from the crimes under the jurisdiction of the ICC by ensuring the rights of victims and their families through the provision of reparations and assistance. The Trust Fund for Victims implements ICC-ordered reparations for the benefit of victims and their families and may provide physical, psychological rehabilitation and material support to the benefit of victims and their families in ICC situation countries. The Trust Fund for Victims depends for its activities on the voluntary contributions of States and other donors to support its activities.
